Innkeepers & Imbeciles is a collection of frivolous fantasy short stories that tell the tale of an adventuring party crossing paths with an enchanted inn and the chaos that ensues.

For legal as well as personal reasons, Innkeepers & Imbeciles has nothing to do with Villains & Virtues, the name just fit too perfectly when the concept came to me (and it is my name after all to use as I please). I&I is its own thing, new world, new characters, no relation!

Also, I have no release schedule for this experiment. I’m basically writing when I get the urge, packaging bits of it up when I feel they’re ready, and posting here. I’ll make announcements on social media when new parts come out.

Things you can look forward to:

🛎️ Magical Living Building (of the hotel variety)
😈 Hot Guy Who’s Evil But Not Really (x 2?)
💘 Idiots in Love (x3??)
🧁 Naïve FMC Who’s Sweet and Perfect LEAVE HER ALONE
⚔️ Archetypal D&D Party Screws Everything Up
🍆 Dick Jokes

Content warnings will be included with each individual story.

Innkeepers & Imbeciles will be here for free for as long as I decide to make it available. If I choose to remove it and post it elsewhere for a fee, no one is entitled to the parts they may have missed. Someday I’d like to edit the stories into a novel, but that’s a far future plan.

Because some people get really confused about stuff they find for free on the internet, I sadly must say these things too: You, stranger on the internet, may read Innkeepers & Imbeciles for your personal enjoyment. You may not:

  • Disseminate it–you may not upload or copy/paste its contents anywhere else for others to consume. Just send readers here if you want to share.
  • Feed it into any large language model or other AI program–don’t feed the billionaire overlords more words, I’m sure they’ll come scraping and stealing anyway, but let’s not make it easier.
  • Claim it as your own and disseminate it–you may not stick your own name on any of these stories and upload them to any paid or free websites, apps, etc. This includes making changes to the text and redistributing it as your own. (That’s still plagiarism lol)
  • Narrate it in its entirety and disseminate it–you may not narrate any story in its entirety and upload that narration to any paid or free websites, apps, etc. If you want to narrate a small section for social media or your personal demo reel, that’s fine, please just include the source.

Okay, now to the stories…
