Each day we inch closer to this anthology’s release, and I can’t wait to get it into your hands. The autumn vibes are immaculate, and each novella is robust and distinct. It’s been such a pleasure working with these other authors, and I love the voices that came together on these pages.

Writing can be incredibly isolating. In a way, it’s necessary–for me, at least. I need silence and time alone to develop my ideas and find the truth in my characters and conflicts. I enjoy being alone, and I enjoy writing (obviously), but on rare occasion a little communication is a nice treat (even if I have intense anxiety the entire time). Chatting with other authors who know the struggle is also nice.

I always wondered if I’d find comradery amongst other authors because a number of groups I’ve been in (as a mostly silent member) never felt like a good fit. Finally, though, it feels like I’ve found people who actually love writing, love the genre we work in, love reading, don’t have contempt for readers, and are ethical about their business and their art. It’s a gift and a rare find in a landscape littered with AI enthusiasts and competitive assholes who might be few in number but are extremely loud. I’m grateful for this work we’ve produced but also for the little community we created. Dare I say, Dear Reader, it brings me joy.
